SPEAKER_02No, it's just me showing up every once in a while, once a year. I love it so much and I appreciate it. And I know you're joking, and I feel like it's not a joke.
SPEAKER_01No, it's not. Yeah, it's not me. But I like that makes me happy. I like talking.
SPEAKER_00I like telling my point of view.
SPEAKER_06So yeah. So today um I'm asking you all about one very specific thing, tarot cards, and all the things surrounding it, the triggering parts, the amazing parts. I mean, I just want to know and I want to share what's in my experience, and I want you to share. Um, and I wonder if you'd be willing first to just give us a short intro or people who haven't heard from you before what you want them to know about you or how you want to be labeled.
SPEAKER_00Um, I am a psychic, and I I call myself a psychic healer because um the clients who come to me are not people who are wanting to know about whether they should go on vacation next year or not. They're more um that is an interesting clientele that just want you to tell them what to do with their lives. But most of the people who come to see me for sessions are people who are recognizing something in my life isn't working well right now, and I think this energetic connection with you is going to help me like clear the path for me. So a lot of who I see are people who want to work through their limiting beliefs and um past, you know, thoughts and stories and traumas so that they can just be more easily themselves. And so I love it. Um, that plus tarot. I'm also like developing myself as a medium, trying to learn that for myself. And really, it's simply it's nice that clients want to come and see me, but really it's such a compelling learning process for me that like I can't not do it. I can't, I'm so compelled to do it, whether or not I'm very good at it or not. Like, I just can't not do it because it has been such an impactful path for me, learning and developing myself as a human.
SPEAKER_01So it's nice that also people want to come to me for session because it continues to be like the solution for my own blocks and remitting beliefs.
SPEAKER_06That's really cool.
SPEAKER_04The power of the tarot compels me.
SPEAKER_06What I know, but honestly, what a relieving way to move through your gifts and places in life because it doesn't always feel that aligned. You know, we've been through lots of things. So the way you describe that was like, oh, yeah. I want to feel that in the places I feel compelled to act. I mean, I also love that to feel aligned. It's it's really cool.
SPEAKER_00It's also sometimes I'll get, you know, when I because people ask me, well, what do you do for a living? And then I'll say, Oh, I'm a psychic. And then often they don't know what to do with that answer. Like, nobody says that about themselves, you know? Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Um, plus that's scary. That's like someone telling you you're a psychotherapist or something. When someone tells me they're a psychic, I'm like, oh, well, don't feel like me.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you know, yeah, there's that reaction. Yeah, but I that's like part of the explanation is like, I don't have to be your answer. I don't have to be, you know, the person that you come to for these kinds of therapy or sessions or whatever. It just continues to be a healing process for me.
SPEAKER_06So yeah, it sounds really authentic for you, and that's why I like hearing from you. And on that point, I actually just sent one of my best friends to you who found some just amazing insights and healing. So yeah, yeah, I know who you're talking about. At the beginning of my podcast, though, I do like to tune in, and it's so easy for us to deep dive. So I wonder if you'd be willing to embrace the pause and stop us on our on my fast track and we'll get grounded so that the most beneficial thing for everyone involved, I think, can come out, at least for me. Yeah. Because I need that pause. So, my listeners now, if you're in a place where it's safe to do so, close your eyes. But if you're not, you can still energetically come back to center and get that pause and clearing of the thoughts and to-do list and whatever's going on for you at the moment you're listening to this. So, to begin, just take one inhale. Naturally, your variation of your exhale will follow. And the goal for the next 30 seconds is observation. Where does my body move when I breathe? Where am I feeling constriction, space, feedback, vibration? And the opportunity here is to slow down.
SPEAKER_03Anything that you can do slower right now, do it.
SPEAKER_06And just find the loudest sensation in your body. Slow that down, breathe towards that sensation. And the power is always in the honesty and the self relationship here, and so we'll ask, we'll each ask ourselves, what do you need from me right now?
SPEAKER_03Asking the body yourself, your intuition.
SPEAKER_06And then intend to fully deliver on that request and take a breath to come out. Thank you. Mine was to relax today. My body was like, Can you just please relax? Can you?
SPEAKER_00Yes, yeah. Mine was like, uh just love yourself. I was thinking about like, oh, I want to get a something, like this little trinket for myself. And then my body was like, actually, could you just like feel filled within, you know? Like instead of this shallow surface level trinket that you could buy, it's really more just like, can you just show up for yourself in a deeper way? I don't know if that makes sense, but it was more like a felt experience of like just be in your body and appreciate yourself.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. And then you don't need to get yourself little gift culture.
SPEAKER_04Little gift culture. That's my favorite self-well.
SPEAKER_01But I still love that.
SPEAKER_06This is where I want to enter the conversation. And you're always willing to say no, guide it somewhere else, give me feedback. And where I just feel in my heart that I can get out of the way is why is there such a negative stigma surrounding tarot or oracle cards? And now that we know your psychic and medium, maybe it has to do with that as well. But since we're talking about the cards today, why do I encounter so many people who are like, oh, and it just takes so long to get to the entry point of the cards? What do you think that's about on the surface level and maybe on deeper levels or cultural levels too?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I feel at the surface, it's simply been embedded into our culture that if if um like like spiritual authority can only come through patriarchy, through religious male authority. And so anything outside of that, there is like this general fear. Um and it's an interesting experience for me. Um, I was speaking with a a woman who was probably in her late 20s yesterday, and she was saying, I do want to develop my intuition. I do want to just for myself, I think that is a normal part of human development. So you can be stay in that programming of it's not safe ever to look into things that are outside of a religious paradigm or dogma or authority. And then a lot of people in in some points of their life come to this urge that arises within them. I just want to know things within myself or for myself. And so I think that begins the counterbalance to everything outside of religion is fearful and not safe to the reality that, like, that's a normal progression in human development to want to develop that, like cultivate that knowing within yourself. So I think that's the surface level. And then deeper than that, um, I forgot what I was gonna say about that.
SPEAKER_06Well, maybe I'll give you a minute because the way you described that really put words to going from something known that is controllable and less fear to what you described, uh your own using your own intuition naturally comes along with a lot of uncertainty and a lot of responsibility. And the fact that if you're yeah, if you're transcribing truth and decision making and how you're gonna live your life based on just your inner knowing, there there now is no more universal truth. So you sort of describe the path from like, well, we have this known that feels and keeps us safe and a clarity and uh a clear right and wrong to a space where no matter what you say or do, even if you're like, I totally trust myself, there is no more universal truth.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And all of this is it also is speaking to the balance of it. I was having a conversation with someone and they were very intuitive, and they said, I felt like my spirit guides told me to break up with my boyfriend. And I said, no, I'm not gonna break up with him. And then she like shut down the communication between her and her spirit guides. And then she's like, I can't get it back open again. And I and this is just like my opinion in general. I'm not saying this uh to anyone in particular, but I think anytime you're too heavily reliant on one thing or another, then it's gonna show you that that's not true. That's not right. So people who are too heavily reliant on an outside authority, whether it's um a priest or a bishop or your tarot reader or you know, your psychic, when you're over-reliant, you're gonna have experiences where they give you unhelpful advice. When you are too reliant on your own self, that is going to also break down for you as well.
SPEAKER_06And show you where maybe you need more collaboration. I love that. I love that in the balance because it can feel scary. And that's also why I'm like, I wonder if we're getting these like extreme adverse reactions, one because of the journey, but a journey to something that is more fearful. But that feels relieving just to get that advice of hold it in balance. You don't have to hold it all by yourself. And so I'm sorry for interrupting you.
SPEAKER_00That was the end. Okay. And so when you have those experiences where this healer, that therapist, this religious leader, they led me astray. It's not really like, okay, that's the bad thing now. It's really just helping you to course correct. Anytime that you are over-reliant on yourself and then you keep finding these frustrating outcomes where you relied on your own intuition and you were wrong, it's course correcting you back to that balance. So it's not like anything is right or wrong. Tarot isn't right or wrong. Tarot is a tool. Your priest is a tool. All of these are tools that you can use, and the truth is somewhere in the mix of that.
SPEAKER_04That's beautiful.
SPEAKER_00I also feel like the power differential in outsourcing your vulnerability to someone else, that's a big deal. So there is the reality that there are charlatans, there are people who use their psychic gifts as a way to um just get money and get your attention and your authority, uh, be your authority, so that they can continue to make an income. And I have noticed this, especially like notice the opportunity for me when people are coming to me with these kinds of questions. Well, should I go on vacation to this place next year? Should I something, something? And I'm like, this is not a question to ask me. This is a silly question to ask me, you know? Yeah. And realizing, oh, I could build a whole um business out of being the authority and being like, whatever question you have, I have the answer for you, you know, like just recognizing the ethics of it. That when someone goes to their um their religious leader and they're like, please, will you give me a blessing? They are so open to receive. And if the person giving the blessing is in a centered place of loving kindness towards them, that matchup is like beautiful, you know? When someone comes to me for a session and I am a clear vessel, I'm not trying to be manipulative. I don't have an all ulterior motive or agenda for them. That is like amazing. There's so much good that can come through that. And those subtle shifts of power and greed and wanting authority, that's a slippery slope. So that's a deeper level of um fear that should be addressed.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and it seems like that would have the same theme. So is tarot in your mind a method and a tool for self intuition and guidance, or it can also become like an outsourced um message?
SPEAKER_00Yes, I guess. Yes, it can, it's a tool that can be overused, just like any other tool.
SPEAKER_06Okay, so this would be super helpful then as well. What is the history of tarot? Where did it come from? And I think a lot of the things, the stigma surrounding it is the same stigma surrounding expansion in general into the light and the dark and labeling things good and bad, because the tarot itself doesn't only contain love and light figures, right? Yeah, all the things. So keep serious. Yeah, can you give us some like this? Is where it came from and this is what it is, because yeah, we've been told incorrect things or just don't know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Uh, like the history of tarot, it's it's a little shrouded, like nobody really knows where it started. But generally, in I think it's the 15th century, so 1400s, um, there were Italian playing cards. So it was used in families to play like an Italian card game. And then people started using it as like a fortune-telling technique. And then, like, I think it was like almost it's like 1789 or something, that's the first time when a specific tarot deck was made for the purpose of fortune-telling. Like Oracle decks. Yeah. And so then it became more popularized in France with like French occultists during that time, and that's basically where he's grown from. Then um, then you know, there was like a large spiritualism movement in the 1800s in Europe and in America, and that's when many people started to make connections like, oh, actually, this goes back to ancient um fortune telling, like the Yi Qing and Egyptian um I love this tarot. I know.
SPEAKER_06That one I feel like is so potent. Yeah, it is. Okay, so then it became, it sounds like you're saying, so then it became the tool that it is today.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. What is it comprised of? So there's two aspects of tarot decks. There's 22 major arcana, and those are basically bigger life themes. So lots of people have heard about the hero's journey, and so you can look in order of the major arcana from zero to 21. You can look at those 22 cards and see that this is generally a person's human development. These are the general life themes that people are going to experience. And so when they show up in a reading, because they are bigger life themes, they are meant to carry more weight. They're meant to be a more important message than the other aspects. And then the rest of the cards, I think there's 56, and those are um divided into four suits: pentacles, which have to do with like money and resources, and swords, which are about action and communication, and then there's um cups, which is about emotions and relationships, and then there's wands, and that's about self-development and becoming. And those tend to show aspects of daily life, but they can be just as instructive as the major arcana. So, in general, uh, a tarot reader would choose a specific spread, like the Celtic cross spread or the Kabbalah tree of life spread, or you know, there's lots of different spreads. Um, but if I'm reading for a client, I use a specific spread where every placement of the card has a meaning in addition to all the symbols on the cards.
SPEAKER_06Cool. Yeah, that's really cool. Can I tell you about the first time I ever got one of those readings? Yeah. It was in 2018, and I was in Costa Rica, and I didn't know all of those details. And when I went in, it was like this most beautiful, lovely lady wearing all white, and she was so kind and loving. And I think that in and of itself was like an initial really great experience with it. And she did that complex spread, and up until that point, I had just divinated a message or looked at one oracle card or something. So I didn't know that you can put them in a story or a meaning place. And so it was like 12 cards, and so it felt really overwhelming. So at the time, I was not able to take in a ton. I tried to journal about it, but it was like, whoa, I didn't even know this much information was possible. Possible in me. And so the one major message that stuck with me was the white rose. And it was like this message of follow the rose and Christ's like energy and forgiveness and kind of atonement and overturning and what it ended up being for, you know, the next five to seven years of my life. That stuck with me because it was like this process of unbecoming for me. And it seemed like an important time in my life where I wasn't able to before, but now could view the parts of myself and view myself from outside of myself and was finally able to access like some evolution and change in a way. Um, and I had just kind of begun that journey, which is so wonderful and awesome and painful and amazing. Yeah. And that was sort of the beginning of it. So those cards broke something open, like a message. They were there at a very important precipice that kind of turned something on for me, even though I couldn't remember. And I probably couldn't find that journal today. And it was really cool. And so I've just loved continuing to learn. And what I've learned now, what I've learned more being in contact with you and like reading the cards is how much it really does have to do with the knowledge and wisdom of the reader. Yeah. So I now today, unless someone has extensive study and care into the cards, won't go because there's a lot of feedback. You mentioned priesthood blessings, like if you're in part of the LDS state, but there's a lot of other places that give you sort of those directions. And I have been like, holy cow, like there actually is a lot of feedback in those places for the facilitator. Do you think that in tarot that's even bigger, even more than other places? Because it is felt like that for me. Like, I don't know what these cards mean. I don't know all those things. I really listen and rely heavily on what's being said about the themes. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I understand why people, I think in some ways you should be intimidated by tarot because they are a little more serious than Oracle cards. Um, in order, in my in my experience, in order to read tarot cards, I did a lot of studying about the symbology. There's layers and layers and layers of symbology. Like not only is it depicting a scene, but colors have an additional layer meaning. The number that's associated with has additional meanings, and and all of that gets intersected with your own intuition as well as the situation that you're like, hey, what am I supposed to do about this, my marriage, or something like that? You know, like so there's so many factors to consider, and having an understanding of the symbols, I think is helpful. If you are not reading it with your intuition, then that feels like you might as well have Chat GBT give you a tarot reading, then, you know? Yeah, and I see a lot of people do that.
SPEAKER_07I do too.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but I I feel like I want to, I remember doing a tarot reading with you where I got angry about something that showed up in the cards for you, and I think you can feel it. That I that is an expression of me moving from that place of neutrality to being like, Crystal, what are you doing? And afterwards, I was like, why did I get emotional about that? And it was like, oh, I love Crystal. Like it came out in such a terrible way that I was like kind of forceful to with you. Um, but really it was, I don't want Crystal to get hurt again. But that was uh I would say a lot of the experiences that I have with my clients, but also with my family and also my life in general is mean just like being a learner and being like, why did I have that reaction? Was that the best way to go about it? How was I an unsafe person in that in and things like that? So like that was a really you've been a source of learning for me.
SPEAKER_04Nothing's ever nothing's ever outside of the ceremony, right?
SPEAKER_06And that's actually a good example of why I said earlier in the podcast I sent my best friend to you because she's sometimes people will ask, you know, and will want to lean on you and know you have these skills. And there's there's something in me that's like, I don't know if I'm as brave as you. And there are situations that I just feel like I don't want to enter. Yeah. So I'm just gonna give you a referral. And did I pass up a learning? Maybe. I don't know. We can analyze it forever, but that is sometimes why I make that choice.
SPEAKER_00I do the same thing, like I don't, I don't generally do energy work or stuff or even tarot readings on anyone in my family. I'm just too close to the situation, and I just need like the I I think I'm someone who would like to be like, let me be the fixer for you instead of like you're on your own journey and instead of the lovely coat.
SPEAKER_06On that note, will you do a reading for me?
SPEAKER_01Yes. Let's get it.
SPEAKER_06Oh, yeah, I want to do it, and I guess just before that, is there anything else you want to say or want us to know about tarot and you can take a minute or an experience you want to share about your personal uh experiences with it?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think um the thing about tarot that really continues to intrigue me and teach me is that um we all have, I feel like anyone can only be as self-aware as they actually are. You can only be awake as you are, and therefore we all have our biases and our blind spots and our programming and our limiting beliefs. And sometimes we're aware of some of those and still we're driven by them. Other times we just aren't aware of it. And so that's why it's really important to take what anybody says, if you're seeing a practitioner or a religious authority or whoever, like to take it with a grain of salt and see if you can balance. Is what they said activating me towards like becoming, or is what they're saying actually limiting me, you know? But the thing about tarot is it brings in themes and ideas that I never would think about. Like I'm a Utah girl, and I was raised in this pretty specific community and a family with these specific ways of doing things, and tarot again and again kind of shows me stuff outside of what I would normally look for. So a lot of ways in which tarot is described is it can be a mirror of your subconscious, which your subconscious is below your awareness. And so if you sit with tarot, it can give you answers and information and intuition that I haven't received otherwise. So while I love, you know, receiving acupuncture, and that's been a wild way for me to have a mystical experience. And same with yoga, and like there's all of these ways in which I've been able to like access parts of myself that I didn't have access to otherwise. Tarot is a practice that I can do really often that helps me to see, like uh, and generally I my journaling is I'll I will draw three cards, and the question is, what is my business today? Instead of all the things I could focus on, what is my business today? What am I meant to focus on? And it has been a learning opportunity again and again. So yeah.
SPEAKER_06Thank you for that. And that also gave me some time because my hardest part is is asking the questions. I feel like it's so much easier when someone is coming to you, like, should I date this person, or what, you know, should I move to this place? Or like you said, and I feel like at some level I we want to use it for those deeper questions and coming up with the questions. So, what's the best way to interact with the tarot? What's the best way to come up with the question or to prepare? And that will also help me since you offer to do this.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So it's an interesting, it's kind of the kinds of questions that you want to ask are going to show you your level of development. Okay. Okay. So if you're asking, will my daughter ever apologize to me? that kind of shows um where you're at in that dispute. If you are asking the question, how can I be clearer in this situation with my daughter? You can see, then that moves the responsibility to you. If you're asking a question and you're asking about someone else's responsibility, that's just not going to give you a clear answer. Or you're going to be frustrated if you act on the answers that you get out of your tarot reading. And so again and again. Ask about yourself. Yeah. Okay. Tarot is generally not good at giving specific numbers or giving specific time frames. So those, it's so great. If you're like, oh, I need this, I need to have this happen by next July or something like that. Um, tarot is a great opportunity for you to recognize, like, I can surrender the timeline, you know? And and so, what what can I do if I don't get to control the timeline or I don't get to control the outlook outcome? How can I surrender? Where's the learning and growth for me? Um, and I feel like I forgot your question.
SPEAKER_06Because it is, because the question is, yeah, we're talking about ethics. Ethics and and how do I how do I ask a question that is helpful and useful and directive? Like if it's too vague, yeah, will that also not give me an like if I feel vague about the question I ask, is that enough to do a tarot reading? Or do you would you need me to come up with something like, I want to know what to do about my money or if I should keep this new horse? Like, do you need me to come up with something definitive for the cards to be able to help me?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's an interesting experience. I mean, generally, people want to talk, they want to have a tarot reading because they want to know what to do next. And so, in some ways, yes, that's a great reason to do a tarot reading. Also, tarot in general is going to help balance out the accountability and responsibility in the quotient. Okay, so someone came to me and they're like, Well, I mean, this awesome relationship, but also I don't know if this is gonna shift and change. And so when we got to the part that like included here, here's the present moment, then the the person they were dating showed up, like, oh, this card is all about this person that you're dating. And basically what they're saying is they're gonna be like this. They're only gonna be what they have already been showing you. And so, really, the question is, do I wanna live with that for the rest of my life? In living with this person and and them showing up exactly like this for the rest of their life, is that going to help me have the kind of expansive experiences that I want? Is it gonna give me the stability that I want? And then they just had that, that kind of just throws it back on them to like ponder and question. Okay, you know, so it I feel like when the questions are asked appropriately, it does lead you to go inward and know within yourself what's the right action or inaction or thought processes to engage in. And a lot of it is trial and error. So if someone is interested in tarot, I think drawing one card a day for like a whole year where you're just studying that, that's such a beautiful way to learn tarot and to grow your relationship with that because it becomes um like the day that you draw that card and the situation that you're going through that helps you to develop your like psychic bank of understanding about what that card can mean. Oh, cool. And then you can have all of those trial and error experiences where you do, you act on it and then it doesn't work for you. It doesn't mean that tarot was wrong. It means like, oh, I I'm maybe I interacted in a in a way where I was too controlling or I was basing too much on the reading versus what you know, uh realizing that everybody's gonna have a different reaction to my actions. Cool. Okay.
SPEAKER_06I feel really open to a message from the tarot right now, and the where the rubber meets the road, places in my life where I don't see where the road is leading, and I'm just being comfortable with the uncertainty. Awesome. Is one in this podcast, two in money and business and collaboration. So there's sort of a big question mark that I'm living in every day. Like you said, how am I in best service today? Who am I? What does the universe want from me? And seeing what shows up, and I don't have clarity around if that means spend some more time and air uh hours towards a podcast or business or things I love or training my horses or my family. Well, actually, that's a certainty. I actually do feel really devoted to my marriage and my family right now. I don't feel questions around that, but I do feel questions around my free time and my expanse. And so those are the places where I'm holding questions and can't quite formulate a question. I don't know what the next thing is going to be to come up for me. Is it in service? Um, is it a service opportunity? Is it a money-making opportunity? Is it just enjoying my podcast opportunity? Yeah. And then if tarot has a message just for me and and like my heart and what I need to look at, that would be cool.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. That's a lot of questions for one tarot reading. Okay. So maybe you can help me narrow it down. Yeah, the idea, I think, I think generally what people are reaching for again and again is satisfaction. Okay. Okay. So you do have like when you're speaking, it was like, oh, she just there is an aspect of you that likes to try new things and likes to see how far you can go with this thing before you're done with it, and that that thing before it's done with it. And so all of that is like great and and an important aspect of your personality. You I feel like you are someone that doesn't like to be told that you can't do anything because then you're like, let me show you that I can. You know, because you can, because you're so capable and you're so smart and you're so grounded, and you do the research, you know, like there's all of these things about you where you're like, I know that I can do everything. And whether you agree with that or not, like I'm gonna do what I want to do. So that would be a helpful question for me. I think it's good for you to have your fingers in a lot of pies, you know. Um and yeah, I think the question is you've got a lot on your mind, you've got a lot on your plate, you care about a lot of things, and what um what could you focus on in June for the next month that would be satisfying? Like what would bring you like expansion and fun and satisfaction?
SPEAKER_06I love that. What should I focus on for the month of June? That would be ultimately the most satisfying. Yeah. Oh, thank you for that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I needed that, I needed that home. I needed that prize. Wasn't that already just like that question? Be like, huh, I think something you up. Yeah, suddenly you're expanding. Yes, I have some relationship. So the nuts and bolts of tarot, I would say um, people are really intimidated about studying it and learning all the symbology. But I think both you and I share this characteristic. Like, I would like to go deep. I would like to go like 10 date layers deep and around 16 corners to see, like, you know, like to come to like this end result that is really cool and expansive. So if you want to study tarot, I would say just like buy a book. I think there's some that are like illustrated that make it more fun and interesting and beautiful to look at. So buy a book if that's what you want to do, and then practice uh drawing one card a day. And and in general, also I'm someone who does like rituals. So every time I interact with my deck, I shuffle it three times and then cut the deck to clear it. Okay. And then I shuffle the deck three times and cut it with the intention of what I'm doing next. Okay. So not that that's the right way to do it, but that's another indication of like you create a relationship with your tarot cards and your deck and the whole premise of it. It's a way to show like respect to the situation. So that's what I'm gonna do. Thank you. So every time I shuffle, I just gotta get in my mind clear.
SPEAKER_06I love that. And I have had these rituals around other things, right? Like when you start a Reiki session or something. So for me, that is helpful to know because that would also help me get into the space I like to be in. Yeah, to be clear.
SPEAKER_00So then generally I'll just like hold the deck in my hands and kind of like bring in this idea like I'm connecting with Crystal. And what are some themes or ideas that she can interact with in the coming weeks that will bring her lighthearted satisfaction? Slight hearted expansive satisfaction. So then as I shuffle, I think purple or black and crystal expansion.
SPEAKER_06I love it. Yeah, that's cool.
SPEAKER_00And how many will we pull? I think we'll just do three. Okay. Just because um tarot takes a long time, there's lots of uh depth of meaning.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I was thinking one would give me enough information, so I'm relying on your intuition.
SPEAKER_00Um, and then also another idea is uh when I interact with my tarot deck, I flip it the same way every time. It doesn't matter what you do, but you're basically just saying, hey, this is how I'm going to interact with you. So for me, I pull it out and flip it over. And then I'll show all of the cards as we talk about them. Um all of your cards are upright, but often they can be, we say that it's reversed if it's upside down, and that just gives it an alternate meaning. So when you read study books about tarot, sometimes they'll say, Oh, King of Swords, that means this, and the reverse means that.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00And then when you are reading it with your intuition, you're looking at it and saying, Is that quite right? Because sometimes the reverse position means the opposite. So if it's if it's a card that's saying, hey, don't do this, the reverse might be like, go for it. Sometimes, though, if it's reversed, it's it means, at least the way I interpret it, is this is a question for you to go at and ask yourself within. This is something for you to meditate on, this is something for you to recognize and ask, like, where's my peace in this? What part am I supposed to be responsible for? So the first card that we drew is King of Swords. Kings are always good, kings are always um masters of what they represent. So if we're looking for satisfaction and we're looking for like heartedness and expansion, swords are about communication and action. So, and and then you with Capricorn energy, even though you are very feminine, Capricorn is a masculine sign. So you know it's very easy for you to tap into your masculine self. And so this one, I feel like it is saying um the month of June for you is about going after the things and speaking about the things. Yeah. So be the noticer of this month. Like, what are we what do I want to talk about? It could be on this podcast, but it could also just be like, I just want to have a conversation. I just want to have uh, I just want to call up somebody or saying, Hey, can you meet me for coffee? And I just want to hear what you have to say, or I want to have a conversation about this idea.
SPEAKER_06So this is and that's the swords aspect of this card you're reading. Yeah. Okay. So is this card having one of the 22 archetypes on it? This is a minor. Or this is one of the 56 of the minor okay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So it's saying you are very good at at creating the kinds of expansive, satisfying experiences that you want. So it really is just in this moment, just for this mu month, what do I want to do? What does June, what do I want to do in June 2026? You know, because next June, it it doesn't feel like this is about traditions. It's about understanding, oh, these are the kinds of experiences I want to create this in this moment, in this month. I love that. And then uh the owl in it is I love all these birds and flying things. Yeah, and so like we could we could talk about 11 symbols here. Okay. Or we could look at the traditional meaning. Okay. And the intuitive part comes where you just look at it and and there's gonna be like one thing. I do, not you. The reader, right? Oh, that's it. But if you're reading for yourself, you don't have to know what King of Swords is about. I've been speaking a lot about the traditional symbology of it, but then as you look at this. Then you look and you're like, why does my eye okay? I guess I'm just focusing on this one part. So for me, it was the owl. The owl come out for you. So I think the owl is saying, you know how to do things in wisdom and order. You know how to balance it. You know that you can come up with eight hours of fun every day of June, but like, actually, that's not wisdom. That's not wise. That like if you are running your kids around all day, every day, that's gonna become not fun eventually. So I feel like the owl is saying, like, also understand that it's so um nourishing to relax and have movie nights and to sleep in and have lazy days and stuff like that. That's what it feels like.
SPEAKER_06That's the advice that my coach right now I've signed up for, has been giving me almost every day. I mean, or every time we have our call, or there's a space for her to reflect and give me advice. That's what she's been saying. Slow down. Yeah. Remember when where when you were a kid, were there moments that you could just enjoy yourself? It's like that feels really validating and intuitive for what I'm going through right now.
SPEAKER_00And it makes me think about when you were a kid and you would like look at the grass and you'd be filled with wonder. I feel like that is an expression of how much your life has to wind down where you don't have a head full of thoughts. Uh your life has slowed down enough. You've like left your phone in the car and you're at a park, you have nothing with you that that's when you can get to the point of looking at a blade of grass. And that is when, like, I don't know, that's when something new can come in. Okay. I love that. Okay, this looks so pretty. So this is a major arcana. It's 12, the hanged man. Um, in the traditional deck, it's a picture of Odin from Norse mythology, who is like the god archetype. And um basically the way he realized or had self-realization was he uh upside down, doing nothing. And that's how so I feel like what we were just talking about segues into this. So this would be the most important thing for you to consider out of this reading is inaction. Hmm, right? So this is like she's doing like aerial yoga or something, and um just that moment of surrendering into the inaction.
SPEAKER_06That's so cool. I can put my yoga trapeze on my swing set and be that. Yeah, I think it's so funny that the question we decided for me was what do I do in June? And it was like, hold still, do nothing.
SPEAKER_00It's so fun. Yeah. And sometimes the way we can get ourselves to agree to that is being productive is so fun. Yeah. But sometimes the way we can agree to that is like, okay, we're gonna refill your rocket fuel in June. We're just gonna let this tank fill back up. Oh, so that meant. So that you can be more explosive in the future. So I don't know. It's like sometimes you have to like come up with some little deal for yourself where you're like, I will learn how to relax. If I can frame it, that relaxing is doing something. Yeah, that one is um, I think the the way in which her third eye is activated through her inaction is a is a good idea for you to consider. That doing is fun, and doing is part of what you're here to experience. And also, if it's imbalanced and you're running around and doing ever all the things and checking off all of the boxes so you can be everything for everybody else, you're gonna start to lose yourself. And so that quiet and that undoing and not doing is a way in which you can come to have new ideas, new understandings, and new levels of like depth within yourself. Cool. Okay, last card, ten of swords, and this is about what can Crystal do so that she can have more satisfaction, like heartedness expansion this month.
SPEAKER_06So that's another sword, yes. That one was the king of swords, this one is a ten of swords, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So ten of swords is generally like talking to you about your and and here's what else I would say. If there is a sword, like in this deck in particular, I've never had a deck that had birds in it, but this deck does when it's related to swords. So when it's about swords, it's more about action. When it's about birds, it's more about communication and thoughts. Okay. So this is kind of calling you on the carpet regarding your internal thoughts and processes about yourself and about what is valuable. So this feels like you have some work to do around what actually brings you satisfaction. It feels like um, it feels like sometimes your thoughts are not kind. And you know how much of those thoughts about yourself are unkind versus your thoughts about other people, blaming yourself versus blaming other people. So I feel like this is calling you to be the witness and the noticer of how kind you are to yourself, how kind you are about situations that you don't have as much control over that you want to have control over, and just seeing if you can bring in more compassion for yourself.
SPEAKER_06Do I have to communicate that? Is it about communicating that, or is it just more about communicating that to myself? Like getting clear on that.
SPEAKER_00I would say on days when you are having a harder mental health day, when you're more angry, when you're more upset whether it's with yourself or other people, it would be uh a question of asking yourself, like, how can I be softer with my thoughts?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, just this morning I got really angry with myself. Like really when I did the terror branch thing, like, what am I unwilling to feel? And it was like disappointment. Yes. And I was really upset after mostly at myself. Oh, I'm sorry. And my ability to accomplish what I had set as myself to accomplish today, which has no need to be accomplished today. I had just set it up for myself, and I do that to myself a lot. And regarding other people, similar patterns, right? How we treat ourselves, we treat the world. Um, and I have some tasks to have some repairing conversations this week, too. Yeah. So I was curious if it feels to you about the self-turning over, if I actually need to go out and take action with this stuff now.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I I felt like it was a more internal noticing. We're not trying to shit on ourselves, you know, we're not trying to make our lives harder, we're not trying to be mean to ourselves. These are subtle processes that sometimes we'll get a little glimpse of, and then maybe we just cover it up with more shame. Yeah, or more self-disappointment. And this is more self-assignment. Yeah. And this is saying, can I, it's you asking yourself, can I give myself a little more softness? Can I give myself a little more grace? And that is really, you can't, you can't lie to yourself about that, right? So when you realize how harsh you're being to somebody else, it's a it's an outward expression of how she how harsh you are being on the inside of yourself as well. And so it's easier to be like, ah, sorry, you know, to your kid or to your pet, or well, this morning it was my horse.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Full disclosure. And it's a lot more than some of that guilt of being really mean to a horse.
SPEAKER_00Which you're very loving to the animal. So I, you know, like this is not normal for you. But that, but then it's it's a lot harder. You can go and apologize to the horse, but like to undo that somehow sometimes it's just very much harder because you don't know how to be softer with yourself. You didn't have a very good example of someone helping you to be like, it's okay to feel that way, and and you're not wrong. You know, like you didn't have those that primary example when you were a little kid. Yeah. So that's why it's so close to you. Your programming is so uh accepted at such a young age. I don't think it's uncomfortable. I feel like many people that are gonna hear this, they're gonna also be like, yeah, it's so close to your understanding of how to be in the world that it's hard to separate. And so, like, as many big breaths that you can take, as many times as you can just say your intention, I intend to be softer with myself today. I intend to be more gracious in the way that I interact with myself today. It's like we're just trying to budge one inch at a time. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Thank you for that. Yeah, how can I be with this in the most loving way? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Ah, thank you for that. That's so relevant. Here's what I love about tarot is that at some point in the reading, their my the person who's sitting there, their vulnerability is exposed. And then I have this opportunity to be like, yeah, yeah, I see it. Like, like what a blessing that you are willing to let me see that vulnerable part of yourself, and then I could show you that sometimes your vulnerability is is safe. Yeah, yeah, cool. Because so many times we're like, I'm not gonna be vulnerable because that has not worked out well for me in the past.
SPEAKER_05I mean, yesterday it didn't, but today it is.
SPEAKER_00Thank you. Yeah, and and speaking on that, like I was thinking about this earlier today of like I was vulnerable with someone and then they didn't hold it very well. And in the past, I would have said, well, okay, that's why I'm wrong, or that's why we can't be friends. But really, what I did when I was, you know, kind of recognizing, oh, I did share something vulnerable with them. They did not hold it well. That's about them, and I can still love them. It was kind of just like recognizing this is the way I thought our relationship was. I went out on a limb and was vulnerable with them, and they did not hold it well.
SPEAKER_05So we're back. Yeah. But it like what a mature and embodied shift into how to deal with these experiences.
SPEAKER_00For me, it was like, yeah, good job, Bethy, for not taking it personally because she's a lovely person. She's always gonna be able to do that. And not to flip into a lower vibrational, just the level of our friendship.
SPEAKER_06Uh it's not for me to be vulnerable with that person, and not to flip into a lower vibrational way of meeting and being and setting in something that you now have to undo again. It's like it's such a cool way to experience it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so I uh again and again tarot whether I read for someone else. If I'm reading for someone else, it's this opportunity to for me to be like, here's the parts that you're you need to quit doing to yourself. Here's the parts where these these are so beautiful and and and and hold those up because you matter. If I'm reading for myself, it is a pretty humbling experience of like it usually the tarot readings are usually saying, um, be more gracious to yourself. This or take more responsibility or stop bringing this up.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and then you're just you're just dealing with the parts of yourself instead of having someone else there to co-regulate or model it for you. And that's the beauty of having someone else do it, right? Is because you're like, oh wow, thank you. Yeah, but you just have to use the parts of yourself when you're with the self. Uh so there once again, there's that balance, right? Yeah, maybe I've been doing this too much for myself, or maybe I've been outsourcing too much, right? And learning. Yeah. And that's beautiful because I feel like you've called that in with these with a lot of social gatherings and settings and things that you're offering and calling in for yourself, which is really cool to see. But wow, I just want to say thank you for that. That felt really pertinent. I'm sure if I sat quietly with myself long enough and was super clear, I could have downloaded that out of thin air. And that is why it's so beautiful to have an outsourced person and cards to really say, look, maybe you're not listening, you're not able to access this, but here's the message, and it feels so relevant. So thank you for offering that to me.
SPEAKER_00And it's fun because when you can feel the shift in you, whether it opens you up or shuts you down.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I feel expansive. I feel like the little bit of pressure in my throat that I always feel when I'm doing a podcast and I'm holding secondary focus that this is an offering. This is a partly performative thing, right? Because it's going to be out there. Yeah. And I'm holding both things after that last car, just felt like huh, a lot more free. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Because it's so relieving to be seen. Even if it's even if you are exposed in like, do you see what a terrible person I am? Or whatever. You know, that I don't feel like that's what the reading was saying about you, but like, even if someone calls you out on something, when it's true, you're like, oh, finally somebody said it.
SPEAKER_06You know? Yes. And that's been a theme that's been swirling around my head for the last 48 to 72 hours, honestly, is that we can do the brave thing and we can be seen and we can feel safe, not because the thing we're afraid of isn't going to happen. That's not where the safety comes from. And I've learned that lesson over and over several times in my life where I've been able to reflect on those as I feel like it's coming up now. And I don't know if it is for you or other people, but when it comes up and it's time to be seen or do something brave, it's not do it because now you're safe, and now someone won't get triggered. And now someone won't get hurt. And now, here, you can do it now and get an opposite. And now you live in a perfect world. And that is part of the healing, right? Repeat it and get back on the horse and don't get bucked off this time. That heals your nervous system. But the message that keeps coming through is don't apply yourself and show up to the brave thing because it's not gonna happen. Apply yourself because you're now wise enough to know that it could happen. Like you were vulnerable with your friend. It could happen. Yeah, but there's some part of you that believes you can survive it, you can handle it. And your safety comes from your self-trust. And that's the thing that just keeps circling back. Um, and what came up for me was a dance thing. I the first time I danced on stage again as an adult, apart from when I did that as a kid, was one of these experiences for me. It was all the reasons I wasn't doing it, it was because someone would judge me, and some people in particular would be there and judge me. I might mess up, I'm not as good as I used to be, um, and I might feel disappointed or frustrated at parts of the process. And guess what? All four of those things happened when I decided to enter the process.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06And so it wasn't because they weren't gonna happen that I chose to be brave and do what was alive in me. There was something in me that was also ready to accept that, except that your friend might not hold that in kindness, and then be able to be like, but we're still okay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And I feel like nervous system regulation, or when we have healed or integrated the parts of us that really were overwhelmed and betrayed and neglected, etc. Nervous system regulation, the outcome is adaptability. So it's that recognition of like, I'm gonna do the the scary thing that is freaking me out because I I can land. Like, whatever way in which I need to pivot, when I do this and I land, I can still deal with whatever happens with that consequence. Yeah. If I if I make a fool of myself, like I've done that a lot of times. So I'm I guess I'm signing up to do it again and I can live after I do that.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I love that process. It seems like there's a lot of I'm going through this with someone in my family right now who um I need to be the coach and container holder. I'm in, I'm in the position to help them say and do the brave thing and learn that it is safe to do that, like you did for me in this reading. Yeah. And then I can see the circular kind of comeback or evolution to once that safety has been established, then the moving on to, and you're gonna have to try something new. And it could be scary. Yeah. And you need to know you can handle that. In fact, that was perfectly modeled by the horse I'm dealing with that kind of went awry. And I got really frustrated this morning. And I can see in him so much of this process, and I think it's just there outside of me, you know, in a 2,000-pound animal, at least probably 1,200-pound animal because it's so big and in my face, right? That when his nervous system is overloaded, we've reached a limit. And I do need to, you know, weave through this process, and that's really cool. So thank you for letting me tell you that. Thank you for letting me be seen. Um, and I'm also wondering if there's anything on your heart that feels alive you want to tell the listeners, uh, and or any events or things coming up for you that you're excited about that we can tell them about because it is so lucky for my listeners who are local to be able to come to some of these things. I've brought people to some of your things, um, and they just always get a huge expanse, expanse and experience.
SPEAKER_05Something happens.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I um am developing my mediumship skills, and some things have shifted to the point where I recognize I need to do a lot of practices and I need to fail. And in the failures, that's where I'm gonna learn. Figure, you know, like piece apart the parts where I got right or wrong. So I can be found on Instagram at psychic integration. And if anyone wants a free mediumship reading, I I just um I just start the call and be like, maybe nothing's coming through for you, but can I practice on you? And that's just helping me to develop my skills. And then I yeah, I don't have I have a private event that I just got booked for, like doing psychic readings for a couple of hours for like a corporate event. And that is fun because I feel like it's an expression of like I'm stepping more out into my capacity to be seen. Um, but yeah, I really just like any of these kind of kinds of conversations. I feel like the where I find the most satisfaction is in having conversations with people where I can just point to their heart and be like, yes, you're amazing. Yes, of course you have all of these gifts, you know. Like, so I am down for that. So anybody can come see me for a session. I do phone sessions, I do in-person sessions, I um read tarot, and then I'm developing my mediumship skills. And um that's cool. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Can you define mediumship for me?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so there's a there's a that's thank you. I am really comfortable with psychic readings. Psychic is me just reading your energy as you are right now. So that's a very natural thing. That's just like the most natural way that I am with people is to read feel people and and situations and spaces and homes and neighborhoods and cultures and stuff like that to be able to feel that. Mediumship is a different vibration altogether. Mediumship is, I don't know whether it's higher or lower, but that it is it is tuning into the energy of someone that you are associated with that is passed on. And so many people will say, if you're a medium, you're likely also a psychic. But there are many people who are psychics who are not mediums. They haven't, and so, and and some people are naturally that way, but for me, it's all of my spiritual gifts have been like taking a long time to kind of gather and piece together and create something out of it. And so I have been looking into mediumship and trying for a really long time and kind of just come to the realization like it, I need to build on the little bits and pieces that I can tune into and over time um yeah, get more comfortable in that stuff. Get more comfortable and like I feel like a lot of it is a learning of there are things I need to let go of that I didn't realize I was still holding on to. There are ways I need to allow love into my life that I have been withholding. There are it's like and and all of that is like another version of saying, I I I can't find the name of the person that I'm, you know, that's here for you until I can tune into the subtleties of that. So it's like the more I can um open my heart to understanding my process for loving myself and others and letting go of grudgeous, etc. And the more I practice and allow the experiences of like failure or making the link or whatever, it's like it will come slowly over time.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, that's cool. You can really see how this is the portal for your expansion as well, while you're gifting other people. And probably other people experience it like this, but I experience it like that too. So I get what you're saying. And I have always said there are a few ways that you can evolve very quickly should you choose to, and that's start a business, practice your spiritual gifts, or stay in a partnership. Yeah, stay there. Yeah, so well said. Well, thank you for being here. Yeah, thank you. I love you, and love you for your friendship. Same and your gifts and all the things.
